Iran regime used Claude to expand surveillance of dissidents, Anthropic says

Anthropic said Iranian paramilitary and security units used Claude to surveil thousands of Iranians and identify opposition and diaspora accounts, while a separate MEK-linked operation used the AI to impersonate an activist and profile people inside Iran.
