Legal aid spending for immigration cases surges 40 per cent as Tories say judges and human rights 'loopholes' are overruling Parliament

Ministry of Justice figures covering April to June this year showed £18.8million of taxpayer's money was spent on immigration cases, up 40 per cent on the same period last year.
