Railway cancelled train but withheld return fare; commission orders Rs 23,350 payout

In a recent ruling, the Sonipat district consumer commission directed the Railway Board to refund Rs 7,350 to a passenger. The reimbursement was due to a cancelled return ticket after railway services to Katra were suspended. The commission awarded additional compensation of Rs 5,000 for harassment
