UK energy bills rise as Middle East war drives up global gas prices

For millions of people in Britain, everyday actions such as boiling an egg, making tea or turning on the heating are getting more expensive. From Thursday, the price cap on a typical household’s annual gas and electricity bill rises from £2,200 to about £2,280 – an £80 increase,
